One of the main challenges for non-native learners in learning Mandarin as L2/L3 is their lack in effective communication in the targeted language they are learning. Consequently, this book is timely in addressing this lack. Nine main characters were created in the writing of this book to make it interesting. Learners are exposed to aspects of Mandarin communication which occurs in the everyday lives of the characters mentioned. In addition, 66 Chinese vocabulary words which are commonly used are also introduced through this book. The dialogues in this book have been specially created to fulfill the social context in Malaysia. This is important to ensure that learners can communicate effectively in the context of the Chinese community in Malaysia.
