Prescription Screening, Labelling and Filling: A Step-by-Step Guide for Pharmacy Students is a concise introductory book designed to facilitate pharmacy students in understanding the processes in prescription screening, labelling, filling and medication dispensing. This book can be used as a teaching and learning resource for pharmacy students, lecturers and pharmacists. It consists of five chapters covering a step-by-step guide on each fundamental process with illustrative examples, quick reference and short questions. Each chapter is written by pharmacists who have hands-on experience in the prescription order process and contains essential information on: key components of prescription, order common problems during the prescription, screening medication labelling requirement, prescription filling process.


Instructor Biography

Azyyati Mohd Suhaimi holds a PhD from University of Manchester/ UK and is a member of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society. She has been a registered pharmacist since 2006 and currently works as a senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy Practice/ Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Her work focuses on pharmacy education and drug abuse.

Izyan A. Wahab started her career as a pharmacist in She joined academia world in 2 (Dr where she teaches various clinical pharmacy courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. She obtained her PhD from University of South Australia, Australia. She is now a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Malaya. Her research interest lies in medication safety in geriatric and psychiatric fields.

Nor Hayati Abu Samah is a registered pharmacist and obtained her PhD degree from Cardiff University, United Kingdom. In 2011 r she joined the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM and is currently a senior lecturer in Pharmaceutics. Her research interests include transdermal and topical dosage form design and delivery, nanoparticles and pharmacy education.

Puteri Juanita Zamri is a senior Clinical Pharmacist currently working in a government hospital. In 2012, she obtained her Master's in Clinical Pharmacy from University Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is a certified trainer for Critical Care Pharmacists under the Ministry of Health (MOH) and a contributor and reviewer for numerous publications under the MOH such as the National Antibiotic Guideline 2014/ Critical Care Pharmacy Handbook and Selangor State Health Department Dilution Protocol. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Medicine at the University of Queensland Brisbane Australia.

Zainol Akbar Zainal obtained his Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) degree from Dalhousie University, Canada in 2001. He joined the teaching staff at the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2002 and then moved to Faculty of Pharmacy University of Cyberjaya in 2011. He completed his Master's in Clinical Pharmacy in UKM (2004) and PhD in Clinical Pharmacy in USM (2010). Besides Clinical Pharmacy, Zainol has always been passionate about pharmacy ed ucation.
