This book is discussing on the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Malaysian scenario. CSR is broadly recognized as a business corporation managing it's business activities while considering a community's larger interest by making a purely profit-making decision. First, this book is describing on the history of CSR. Then, CSR theories is deliberated such as stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory and exchange theory, to name a few. Next, a four-part dimension of CSR by Carroll namely economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic is introduced. CSR benefits such as, enhanced reputation, market value, supportive communities, increase customer loyalty, improved quality and productivity, and greater employee loyalty and retention among others will motivates firm to continue practice good behaviour. However, CSR do pose challenges to company such as high cost involved among others. Finally, CSR from Islamic perspective CSR and ethics, and Islamic work ethics are also unveiled in this book.


Instructor Biography

NOR SUZIWANA TAHIR (PhD) obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Master in Business Administration (from Universiti Corporate Teknologi MARA (Shah Alam), Bachelor of Corporate Administration (Company Secretary) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (Shah Alam); and Diploma in Banking from Universiti Teknologi MARA (Perlis Campus). She is a senior lecturer at Faculty Administrative Science and Policy Studies and have been teaching at UiTM for almost 17 years. She has been posted at UiTM Sarawak Campus (Kota Samarahan), Malacca Campus (Lendu) and currently at UiTM Shan Alam, She teaches Corporate Strategy in Practice and Research Method and Data Analysis for Master in Corporate Administration's students and Leadership for Change for Executive Master of Administrative Science's students. Her research interests are in the area ot Islamic work ethics, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, management and administration, and corporate governance.
