Instructor Biography
Patricia Pawa Pitil is a sports science lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kampus Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia. She actively conducts fitness training for overweight and obese individuals. She has been certified as a fat-loss coach by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is a council member of the Malaysian Society of Body Composition, and a member of the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO), the Malaysian Exercise and Sports Science Association (MESSA) and Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine (MASM). She has presented and published papers on fitness programmes on body composition, body image, and health. She is the author of 20 Mitos Senaman dan Kesihatan (PTAR UiTM Sarawak).
Luke Nikol is a lecturer at the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Kampus Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia. He lectures in biomechanics, exercise physiology, sports nutrition, and anatomy courses for undergraduates. He is a member of the Malaysian Exercise and Sports Science Association (MESSA) and the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO). He is an active facilitator for the National Coaching Academy and conducts routine training on fitness for overweight and obese individuals in Sarawak, Malaysia. He served as a fitness coach for the UiTM Sarawak track and field athletes and has published scientific findings in reputable journals and presented at conferences.
Gordon Nicolaus Jemat Anchang is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak, Kampus Samarahan, Malaysia. He lectures in the fields of anatomy and physiology, sports injuries, track and field, and swimming. He is a member of the Malaysian Exercise and Sports Science Association (MESSA). He is an active facilitator for the National Coaching Academy and was an advisor to the Sarawak Sports Corporation from 2012 until 2018. He is also the fitness coach for the UiTM Sarawak Men's and Women's Handball teams, as well as the advisor to the Ultimate Frisbee Association of UiTM Sarawak (ULTRAS). He has also published scientific findings in reputable journals and presented at conferences.
Mahenderan Appukutty is the Associate Professor of Sports Nutrition at the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia, and started his academic journey in 2001. His interest in exercise science, health, and functional food in sports. He is the vice president of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and the Malaysia Association of Sports Medicine (MASM). He is a professional and a council member of the Malaysian Society of Body Composition (MSBC). He serves on the Clinical Care Committee of the World Obesity Federation (WOF). He was a council member of the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (2006–2020). Dr. Mahenderan was conferred as a Fellow of NSM in 2016 and a Fellow of MASO in 2022. He is also the Sports Nutrition Consultant for UiTM Football Club (UiTM FC) and engaged in food industry nutrition consultation. He has published scientific articles in local and international refereed journals, newspapers, and magazines. He also presented more than 100 papers at international and local conferences and seminars on nutrition, health, and exercise science.
