Philosophy and Current Issues: An Introduction and Reference for University Students
This book discusses the concept of philosophy consisting of the views of figures from various eras up to the present time especially in Malaysia by looking at the philosophy of Pendidikan Kebangsaan and Rukun Negara. The author explains how this philosophy is also found in other fields that are able to have an impact on people's lives today. This book enlightens on the holistic approach of philosophy regarding the harmonious individual, aimed at addressing the challenges of decolonizing the mind and thought, to build a progressive and unique Malaysian state.
Instructor Biography
Khairul Hamimah Mohammad Jodi is currently serving at Open University Malaysia (OUM) as the Director of the General Subjects Program (MPU) and the Director of the Diploma Program in Islamic Studies with Education. She graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy from University of Malaya in the field of Islamic Belief and Thought.
Mohd Syariefudin Abdullah is currently serving at the Malaysian Study Department, Faculty of Humanities, Sultan Idris Education University. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Civilization Studies from the Centre For Civilisational Dialogue, University of Malaya and a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology of Ethnic at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
