ESSENTIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN THE WORKPLACE 2ND EDITION targets undergraduates and people already in the workplace market. The focus of this book is communication skills – both the oral and the written in formal and informal contexts. These skills are not just an asset but a necessity in today’s working contexts.  Each chapter takes a learner through the content and the language aspects of each topic. There are exercises in every chapter for both components, hence serving as a recap and a revision content and language aspects. The topic began with the introduction to some basic communication skills and how these may be used in telephone conversations, meeting, oral presentations and in written proposals. This is enriched with the blended learning task and a set of further reading website references, which can be carried out in pairs, group or even as individuals.  


Instructor Biography

ANGELINE RANJETHAMONY VIJARAYARAJOO is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies in UiTM Cawangan Negeri Sembilan, Kampus Seremban 3. Her areas of interest include Literature and Professional Development. She has also written books, journal articles and enjoys writing, travel and music appreciation.

JASMINE SELVARANI EMMANUEL is currently the Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science at Wawasan Open University. She has written modules related to the teaching of the English Language, intercultural communications, interpersonal skills and open educational resources.

SATHIYAPERBA SUBRMANIAM is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies in Pusat Asasi UiTM Kampus Dengkil, Cawangan Selangor. She has written academic book and is passionate about teaching. She enjoys reading and writing. He areas of interest is Linguistic Analysis, Genre Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis.

IRENE LEONG LOKE CHU is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Language Studies in UiTM Cawangan Melaka, Kampus Bandaraya. Her educational background includes a Master in Computer-Assisted Instruction and a PhD in Computer-Meditiated Communications. With 30 years of experience in teaching and learning, Irene is passionate about writing books and articles that promote a positive intercultural and interpersonal environment.

ROSLINA MOHD JANI is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies in UiTM Cawangan Melaka, Kampus Alor Gajah Melaka. She has been involved in English Language teaching and learning, research invention, innovation and design and participated in conferences. She enjoys teaching linguistic.

KAMALANATHAN M. RAMAKRISHNAN is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies in UiTM Cawangan Johor, Kampus Segamat. He has vast experience in teaching communication skills and writing. He is particularly interested in peer feedback in ESL writing.
